Make our neighbors to the north and south resent us
Import racists and thugs, in case we don’t have enough
Antagonize and vilify big cities instead of partnering with them
Dumb down the education system and dismantle public school system
Undermine US standard-setting and research in cutting edge science leadership
Decimate world-class universities financially and undermine their independence
Waste tax dollars on tank parades and the pointless imprisonment of immigrants
Disable the health system that protects the public, and fights and tracks epidemics

Tanks in the street of the US capital, what a picture that will be. What’s left? Melt down the Liberty Bell yet? Keep trying to get the Declaration of Independence moved? Get rid of the Stars and Stripes, the pattern is too complicated? There will be far worse things. I feel a bit detached, that the American people — or a significant plurality of voters, at least — have shown us who they are.
