Trump is giving special accommodations to those participating in his parade, probably so that they look fresh for lots of marching in the rain for his sole amusement. Very North Korean.

a lot of people who don't know what military service is like or how it works.
Like I said in another post, the worst part is the poor bastards will likely be eating MRE's for a while.

Others were absolutely terrible. The chili mac and chicken and salsa were great. The meatloaf and gravy were awful. Either the gravy was imaginary or the Iraqi heat dried it all up.

People could put the stuff they didn’t want on the table and try to find something else they wanted. There would always be a bunch of candy bars, crackers, peanut butter and jelly, etc leftover. Anything pasta related was popular and good like chili Mac, spaghetti, vegetable lasagna, etc. I never cared for the rice entrees myself.

There was an Omelette entree around 20 years ago that was the worst thing ever created, people called it the Vom-lette.

Or if you are only going to be at that location for a few days or so. The gov isn't trying to set up and pay for a bunch of hotel rooms at short notice and they aren't dealing with the logistics of moving thousands of cots and crap if you're only going to be there a few days. Actually deployments are large logistical nightmares and are planned as far ahead as possible. Unexpected ones like this? Yea, you're going with what you can carry and that's it.

You sleep wherever you can if you’re on the move or only going to be somewhere a short or unpredictable amount of time. It’s also less security risk in this scenario to keep everyone and all your equipment together in a secure location, they don’t want to be sending troops and military vehicles to stay at unsecure area hotels while there is unrest going on.

And if you have a night op you nap if you can during the day wherever you are staging at.

For big training operations or deployments planned months or even years in advance they would sometimes rent out entire motels for us but on something like this there’s no time to do that and also again for logistical and security reasons you wouldn’t want your troops and vehicles spread out at random hotels that may have had some availability on short notice and have them spread out across a city with unrest going on.
