These are songs that we grew up on so everybody knows the words (well, mostly), like My Country 'Tis of Thee; America the Beautiful; and the National Anthem. They are a good counter to Mr. Trump's complaints that we "hate our country." Singing peacefully also exposes the stark contrast between people peacefully protesting and an autocrat deploying the military against them.

No Kings does have protests planned all around DC, just not within the city limits. No Kings protests are planned in Chevy Chase, Bethesda, Silver Spring and Takoma Park, Md., plus Arlington, Alexandria and Falls Church, Va.

Second of all, Refusefascism.org is connected to the Revolutionary Communist Party. I would expect most Progressives and Liberals would not want to get involved with that group. I fear they will do something stupid in DC and the media will conflate them with the massive No Kings protests around the country and try to taint the peaceful No Kings protests by association.

Third of all, their last protest in DC was May 17th and I can find absolutely no media coverage of it at all. Apparently the protest attracted less than 100 people. I'd say this organization has n influence at all at this point. At least based on that last protest, the crowd is likely to be too small to cause much harm.

Whether we ignore him or not, Trump is going to push forward with his plan to institute martial law at some point. And then we will all get to see the true fascist agenda.
