It's bad enough they actually have to march in a parade on a day they're normally off. Marching in Army Green Service Uniforms would really suck.

Another issue is that most soldiers currently serving can't march in greens because they don't have the right footgear. In the old days if you needed to march in greens you wore combat boots with them - low quarters will damage your feet if you march very far, like if you were in a parade. The boots soldiers wear these days are made of tan suede leather and are too ugly to wear with a dress uniform. The 82d Airborne and 101st Airborne have the right boots because those two divisions have always worn jump boots with greens but the rest of the Army is not so equipped.
