Why I don't think the trump elon feud will help us

elon is very unpopular. trump knows it. To him and his cult this is a battle he will win against the most wealthy man in the world. trump is going to deport elon and take away his contracts. people are going to love it.

The epstein part won't matter. If they are told not to believe elon regarding epstein they won't believe elon. It's not like they cared before when they were informed trump is a rapist.

If Elon is sent back to South Africa he won’t be interfering with our politics for the republicans. If trump loses some of his luster with the the non maga republicans that’s also a win.

is certainly entertaining to watch, but you are correct, it is not going to help us regain control. We have to get back on track with promoting good policy and actually doing the right things. I keep seeing posts along the lines of "is he dead yet", and that is the style of behavior that is holding us back and making us unattractive in the eyes of the independent and centrist voters. And no, I don't mean strictly on DU, that is the mood on pretty much all social media and even the news media. It's doing damage, and not in the way we would like either.

….is getting rid of as many repubs in gov’t as possible, while emphasizing their history in the modern era and how they have always f**ked things up and how dems have always done the repair work. This would involve especially human rights and the economy. I believe this should be front and center on the dems’ platform nationally. YMMV

this is what I'm talking about. Making a platform 100% about "the other guy sucks" isn't a winning strategy. Sure, we need to point out the misgivings and failures of opposition, but the primary method should be developing, promoting, and implementing solid policy that is good for the masses. Or, we can just keep doing this thing we are doing right now, and it's pretty obvious how effective that has been.

OK
But I didn’t write 100%. And I’m talking about actually educating people with the historical facts undeniable trends. I mean a serious presentation with facts, figures, charts, graphs. It’s not been done this way on a large scale, repeatedly. Some in Congress have done it, but only select individuals, and not directly to the general public. If we did this and at the same time our fight against them, how we plan to change it, I think it could shift the needle. YMMV

that his kkkultists could catch him in the act of violently sodomizing their own children, and they’d still mortgage their homes to help fund his legal defense.

A revelation of pedophilia wouldn’t even make them blink. They’ll either dismiss it as woke anti-Trump propaganda, or they’ll ignore it outfight.

Even so, it’ll be interesting to see the press scrambling to cover for him.

They blame him instead of Trump and ignore that Musk did shat Trump wanted and of course took the blame. Musk may not be there to grab attention, but the destruction of the federal government will continue. It will just be sneakier.

Musk is channeling the Steve Bannon Magats who believed that Krasnov would protect the social safety net.

I live among Magats and I shop at a local meat market and I see a lot of people paying with food stamps. Will those same people still support Krasnov when SNAP is gone?

If he withholds support for Republicans, there goes the House and maybe Senate.

Similarly, if Republicans no longer have to fear a primary from Musk, maybe they’ll stand up to Trump more often.

Fri Jun 6, 2025, 08:05 AM
Jun 2025

But if there’s anyone on the planet who can do a ton of damage to Trump and the GOP on the way out, it’s Musk. The GOP is not a monolith, there are lot of tech-right bros who worship Musk far more than they like Trump. And Musk wasn’t wrong when he said his money helped Republicans win last year.

Eventually one of them will “win” and the other will “lose” but schisms this severe often cause significant electoral fallout down the road (see the post-primary Democratic Party in 2016). Right now, I hope they do as much damage to each other as possible, and given that they’re the world’s two most powerful narcissists, this has the potential to go on for a while. Even if this ends today, they’ve still diminished one another and exposed serious problems with the way government is being run.

I golf with a retired high school superintendent who votes Magat over abortion. He told me before the election that he was worried about what may happen to special needs children. I told him that he should be worried. Hey, if it was shown that Krasnov was a child rapist, maybe he would still vote for Krasnov?

I play golf with him and he never talks politics with me because I don't pull punches.

He could not care less about regular people.

Obviously his fake concern about special needs kids did not deter him for adoring and voting for
his lord and master Trump.

He is a hypocrite and jackass.

I would not give him the time of day.
