"Beware the man who looks you straight in the eye. He wants to prevent

you from seeing something. Look for it." Instructions from Lord Peter Wimsey to his agents, fondly known as "The Cattery".

In these times, I always interpret it as the bright, shiny thing, distracting everyone's attention over here, while the important/nasty stuff is going on out of sight. So, turn your head, open your eyes. LOOK AROUND!!! What are they so desperately trying to distract you from noticing?

horrible thing they have planned, especially considering they have already surpassed even some of the most cynical and imaginative types out there. Way to insult people.

about what streaming services they might be on. Google "Lord Peter Wimsey Harriet Vane Mysteries youtube". Edward Petherbridge and Harriet Walter (who played Fanny Dashwood in the Emma Thompson-scripted version of "Sense and Sensibility&quot . "Strong Poison". "Have His Carcase". "Gaudy Night". 10 episodes total.

The next was Strong Poison, where he meets Harriet Vane as you know, but we only watched episode 1 because of it being midnight by then. I do like the new cast of actors — they look so much more like the description of the characters in the books, Wimsey especially.

For me this is like meeting old friends after decades (Oh look, Miss Climpson is on the jury) . Hubby, who is hard to please sometimes, is enjoying himself too, especially the witty repartee.

I do have the books, but haven’t re-read them in a long time, so seeing this is just so much fun. And needless to say, we needed that.

Tourism in our area is down 47%. Forty-seven percent. That’s great for finding good camping spots again but the consequences in this community will come swiftly and they will bring serious pain.

I noticed the other day as a friend and I were driving through Garden of the Gods that there were fewer cars, fewer people on the trails, then one usually sees after Memorial Day.
