Many women of a certain age worked years for paltry wages, interrupted by years spent raising children, and most of us live on a pittance. Lack of access to living wages and decent health care has impoverished many families of working, elderly and disabled people. It will be a scene from Dante’s Hell. Calcutta indeed!
