But when House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., addressed how the party will hold the Trump administration accountable for the needless intrusion of law enforcement into a congressional office, he said on CNNs State of the Union: We will make that decision in a time, place and manner of our choosing.
With remarks like that, he might as well send a Hallmark card asking President Donald Trump politely to stop.
Comments like this are partly to blame for why many feel elected Democrats in Washington dont have their finger on the pulse of their constituents. And if folks dont feel it, they dont believe it.
What we need instead is a sustained campaign-like drumbeat from the opposition. Not once a month. Not after a crisis has passed. Daily.

I agree with this writer, Symone D. Sanders-Townsend.

She helped fracture the party with Bernies suicide run for President and now helps with these gems of advice.
What is the remedy
what would you have Leader Jefferies do, stand outside with Reverend Barber
. That does a whole lot.

Jeffries' wishy-washy response is not the type of answer to motivate non-voters to get off their asses to the polls.

MSNBC is among corporate media who have underreported and ignored the party's
-- successful movement work of Indivisibles and College Democrats in all 50 states,
-- its congressional investigations, and
-- Cory Booker's history making speech until he was already 8 hours into it.
To this very day, now that Comcast has sold off MSNBC to drift into the broadcast current, its producers produce the same messaging as before, only with different show lineups.
And now -- not surprising to Democrats who've paid attention beyond Scarborough over the years -- MSNBC has a whole lineup of DOUBTCASTERS who undermine Democrats and the Democratic Party.
Democrats DO have their finger on the pulse of their constituents. AND on the pulse of republican constituents.
It's MSNBC and corporate media who refuse to report on Democratic Party activities inside or beyond the beltway.
It's MSNBC and corporate media who then turn around and COVER their underreporting of the MINORITY party -- the Democratic Party -- that it's ALL THE PARTY'S FAULT. BULLSHIT.
They did this before in all previous general elections -- with Obama, then Biden -- when corporate media created the "problem" narrative about Democrats -- that "Democrats have a messaging problem."
Now the new "problem" narrative is outright right wing: "Democrats hold a losing hand." Fuck that.
Do not believe the corporate hype.
Do not believe the F'n corporate media's right wing narrative.
DO Believe the national polls and the party's work.
If Symone D Sanders actually said or wrote this
then it is SHE, in lockstep with her corporate employers, who should know Democrats' activities better. It is she and her corporate producers who are purposely out of touch with the Democrats' daily fights.
It is Sanders herself who's fallen for the corporate hype, UNLIKE Maddow or O'Donnell.
This hype deserves a variation on MLK's saying:
Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than
a) sincere ignorance of Democratic Party analysis, and
b) the conscientious stupidity of corporate and republican party fascism."
Damn all doubtcasters.

(1,259 posts)"...What we need instead is a sustained campaign-like drumbeat from the opposition." I disagree with her rejection of crisis mgmt....must do both.
Does anyone know a natural coordinating spot/org for Democratic drumbeat messaging? Is it the DNC or DCCC (except they focus on elections)....
