and this is what I've gathered: the demolition was mostly at the base of more than one reinforcing/support columns. It was effective enough to cause visual and noticeable structural damage. The bridge was immediately closed for app. 18 hours afterwards. No word on extent of damage, but there is cautious optimism the damage may force numerous temporary closures over the next month as analysis then repairs are made.

Somewhere I did read a comment that these strikes to weaken the bridge support structure might be in preparation for further strikes with Taurus missiles to take the bridge out on a long term basis...I hope this is true...
