ICE officers wearing masks.

A fellow DUer alerted us that ICE officers are wearing to masks to protect their identities from retaliation, which raised two issues in my mind:

Are these the same people who refused to wear a mask to protect their fellow Americans from COVID? Additionally, there are parts of the country where, if a masked man, wearing no uniform, displaying no badge accosts you, he might easily get himself shot.

But they can wear masks to protect their identities as they commit crimes against humanity.

I find that hard to believe. They're probably more afraid of being prosecuted for their many illegal acts and civil rights violations once Trump is gone, like the hundreds of 1/6 insurrectionists.
