What are the odds that the gop cant pass the BBB

And they end up having to kick the can down the road and vote for continuing resolution ?

I think that given the infighting and how some of them ( mtg, Musk, etc. ) are now opposing it, it may end up dead on arrival. The senate will modify it and it won't pass the house again assuming it even gets out of the senate.

A continuing Resolution would be the best outcome for us. Hopefully drag it all the way to 2026 when we take back house and possibly (harder) the senate.

Voters won't know for years whether it actually saved one penny, cut services harshly, or was a total failure. To Democrats, it will be a failure on day one. To GOPers, it'll be deemed the great white wing leader's biggest accomplishment.

The Republicans have shown no willingness to defy their leader, and I don't expect that to change now. Musk and Greene's criticisms of the bill are just theatrics.

But it will require a tie breaker from Vance, who will be mightily pissed that they kept him in chamber until wee hours making him miss his much needed beauty sleep. Plus, his eye makeup doesn't wear well after an extended period of time.

Elon Musk went on a tear last night on X basically saying “if they vote for this - kick ‘em out!”

John Cornyn is up for reelection in Texas probably against Ken Paxton. Polls are beginning to suggest there may be an opening for a Democrat.🤞

June 14 - Lots of folks are going to be upset, I hope. Here we are spending God knows how much money on a photo op.

That Qatar plane - gonna spend a billion dollars while FEMA cannot respond to natural disasters- hurricane season?

Finally, I don’t think John Thune can get it passed. He’s no Mitch McConnell.

But..it is the Repubs and I am probably wrong. 🙄

...make it an ever harder bill to reconcile and pass in the House. Add to that: it looks highly unlikely many of the worst provisions will pass reconciliation muster and make it through the Byrd Rule, so Republicans will be forced to either break it up or "go nuclear" on the filibuster. It is One Big Beautiful Mess.

When all is said and done they will pass something--or multiple somethings--truly horrible for the American people. That is the one thing that is certain.

If you had a clue, you'd know that no Democrats are needed to pass the bill. All that is needed is 50 Republican YES votes out of 53 Republican Senators.

Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized for not reading Trump’s ‘big, beautiful’ bill
Republican extremist says she would have voted against tax and spending bill if she knew about AI language

Republican firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene has drawn widespread criticism from Democratic colleagues for admitting that not only did she not read Donald Trump’s tax and spending bill before voting for it, but she would have voted against it had she read thoroughly.

“Full transparency, I did not know about this section on pages 278-279 of the OBBB that strips states of the right to make laws or regulate AI for 10 years,” Greene wrote on X. “I am adamantly OPPOSED to this and it is a violation of state rights and I would have voted NO if I had known this was in there.”

Democratic lawmakers, who all voted against the bill, responded with incredulity to Greene’s admission.

“You have one job. To. Read. The. Fucking. Bill,” Representative Eric Swalwell wrote in response.
