abomination" nbcnews.com. Musk scolded the GOP lawmakers who voted for the bill days after leaving the administration. Hakeem Jeffries just posted the same quote using Musk's words on bluesky and said that truer words were never spoken.
I agree with Musk that the bill is disgusting. But DOGE was as well. He seems to be very afraid that some of the blame for this coming debacle will be laid at his feet.
As for trump, as Ron Filipkowski just posted on bluesky, trump trashed Massie and Paul after they dissed his big ugly bill. Will he have the guts to trash Musk for doing the same thing?

Trump cant dump Musk because he needs his money and data manipulation of the vote.
Musk cant dump Trump because he likes the billion dollar contracts.

(24,256 posts)but I can't help but feel that it would be a more dangerous situation if they were presenting a united front. At least Musk is getting the idea that this is a bad bill out there to people in the RW bubble who might never hear it.

If their is ONE thing you can be sure of with tsf, it's that he HAS to be the ceter of attention and everyone HAS to acknowledge that. That is why stephen miller is so successful. He doesn't stick his head up except to asslick, and he never takes credit.
Musk couldn't do that. There is only room for one narcisist.
Now he faces the loss of tax credits for e-vehicles, loss of energy incentives for solar power (another tesla market), rising labor and materials costs, possible losses for spacex contracts, and even criminal prosecution (he has violated many trade laws including sharing prohibited tech with russia).
TSF will squeeze his billions until he pays up and shuts up.

He attacks the "crushingly unsustainable debt", not that it slashes Medicaid, or that it gives Trump too much power. This is attacking it from the right.
