Joni Ernst revealed how much the GOP congress hates Americans

and sees us as suckers, losers, useless eaters.

They view us with disdain and disgust.

We deserve nothing. They want us to just hand over our tax dollars and shut the hell up.

We are going to die anyway. Why provide healthcare, education, science, prevention, treatment.

Joni Ernst is entitled, privileged with excellent salary, bribes, insider trading, pension, lifetime healthcare.
And she wants Americans to have none of what she has. She just wants us to pay for her life
of luxury.

Some of them are so angry and cynical that they have no hope, want to make others hurt like they do.- If they are going down, they'll take the rest of us with them. Or at least they'll establish that there are people lower than they are, who they can blame instead of themselves. Like the poor Whites who supported slavery back when. It's not OK to think this way, but when the widening income gap destroys hope it creates desparate people. Like Weimar Germany after WWI.

Some really didn't know what he was going to do. They aren't policy wonks. They don't read between the lines. They're stuck with the beliefs they grew up with, exxacerbated by the Fox bubble. They believe him when he says he won't touch medicaid and Social Security. They think the immigration problem is only rapists and murderers and he'll only be deporting bad guys. Those of us who are paying attention think they should know, but they don't. They are maddeningly ignorant, but not themselves cruel.

But to some degree this is on us. Dems ever moving to the middle. We label universal healthcare as unaffordable and radical, we don't stop hedge funds from buying up the housing stock, and we take the Hispanic vote for granted because we think they'll be logical while the Right funds Spanish speaking radio stations spewing lies.

I'm as mad at Trump voters as anyone, but I'm also mad that Democrats have not created the contrast necessary to keep our voters.

Yes there are MAGAs who don't care if Trump is a criminal. Though I'd wager they are convinced Biden is a criminal too. That's the reason for the big lie, so Trump can be a criminal and it seems justified.

Yes there are people ok with a dictatorship. They don't understand the ramifications. They actually think that things will work better.

I still think the people who actually want the cruelty are a minority of Trump voters. Too many, but not half the country.

I'd respectfully disagree.

Because, for starters, I don't see much difference between those who 'actually want' the cruelty and those who abide by it.

And MOST of them support Trump still, in spite of all he's done, said, and WANTS to do.

Or maybe I've seen too many polls, studies, and statistics like how 70 percent of Republicans think President Biden 'stole the election' and how 70 percent of them sympathize with the Capitol Insurrectionists, how the majority of them favour mass deportations, and how as many as one third of them even support violence as a means of assuming political control.

Nor am I inclined to excuse denialism, the rejection of uncomfortable truths and facts, and willfully deliberate ignorance.

Trump and his MAGA party were and ARE quite CLEAR as to their words, their messages, their demonizations, their rhetoric, their hate, and their intent.

In my book, people who choose to look away, while their leadership engages in hate, CRUELTY, discord, and inhumanity,

those who don't WANT to know, are equally guilty.

And with the choices clear and the danger imminent, I'm not inclined to cut the 'undecideds' the uninformed, or the willfully OBLIVIOUS, any slack.

Often, my impression is that they were raised in families where the parents kicked their kids to the curb as soon as they could. I can see how they were raised in a household where the parents mentally abused their kids, criticizing them for their shortcomings and showing no support for interests or hobbies that couldn't pay for themselves. "Yeah, but can you make a living with that?" That sort of thing.

One of the survival mechanism in this pressure cooker is to redirect the ire at another target. If they can get their parents to denigrate the younger brother or sister for example, it takes the heat off of them.

That's how I see right-wing families.

Republican Senator Accused of Fling With Sexting-Mad General
Josh Fiallo
Tue, March 4, 2025 at 12:02 PM CST

Sen. Joni Ernst was accused Tuesday of having relationships with two military officials — one of them an Air Force general demoted after being busted sexting women on Capitol Hill.

Ernst, a 54-year-old Republican from Iowa, was named as one of the retired Maj. Gen. Christopher Finerty’s conquests in a ProPublica report, which cited two sources familiar with a military probe into his conduct.

Word of Finerty’s promiscuity first emerged in January when a 2023 report by the Air Force’s inspector general became public. The report found Finerty had violated military law by having “sexual, inappropriate, or unprofessional relationships” with multiple women on Capitol Hill. He was demoted and ultimately retired in November.

The report circulated in the press but the names of Finerty’s alleged lovers were redacted.

I'm really not sure they want to play this game, because if when and how we die don't matter, then what the fuck is the problem with abortion? Or even Luigi Mangione, for that matter?
