Joni Ernst gave us a gift.

Any competent political party would know what to do with an opposing party who is trying to take healthcare away from middle income/poor people to give tax cuts to people like Elon Musk. But when one of them steps in it as bad as she did, and then doubles down the ads write themselves.

Her horrible comments and sarcasm need to be the focus and tied to the Republican bill and Republican party as a whole. Statements like "they don't care if you die" and "they are trolling you because you want to live" need to be made and repeated. Use this gift, Democrats! Don't be afraid to sound rude or disrespectful to a colleague. She more than asked for this, and you need to show which side you are on!

I read comments on my Neighbors website every day from people here who applaud what Trump is doing to immigrants - even the ones here to work with work visas. Want health care? Get a job. More God needed in public schools. 2nd amendment unrestricted. Trump for 2028. Sigh ….

They will just say, then work 2 jobs so you don’t have to depend on government handouts. My granpappy never went to see a doctor and he lived to be 90. And Illegals are freeloading off the healthcare system. Etc

There are many like that around here. Frankly I don’t know how to break through to such hard headed idiots at this point. And they have been saying Biden is a clone for a while now.

I think we need to get through to the folks who sat out the last election.

You have a safe haven here with many in agreement. And your thoughts and posts are most appreciated!

I find that it helps to remind myself that “nothing lasts forever”. Even when it seems like change for the better is TAKING forever!

But WE vote, too, and WE count, too! And that alone comforts me to know that such assertions can make the opposition lose sleep!

Sometimes it just seems so hopeless, when you live in a red state. When you stop to think that more people didn’t vote in the last election than *did* vote, I think we should target those non-voters.

And I will try to keep reminding myself that nothing lasts forever!

They’re two gone (John & George) and two still with us - for awhile anyway (Ringo and my secret husband, Paul).

Sometimes I wonder how many “secret wives” lined up for Paul. Probably in the hundreds of thousands, at least!

And my opinion is:

It depends on the person. IMO, the article presumes a rational person. MAGA's are not.

So do seek out rational people.

The non-voters decided the election. Voluntarily or by voter suppression.

Currently hot weekends. I got a lot of required native grass cleaning done in mornings, but 100 ft. defensible zone (2) means some 20,000 sq. ft. About 1/3 of a footall field, (1) and much of it on a 🐐🐐🐐30 degree slope. 🐐🐐🐐

So, no chores today.

Green Acres, my ass.

From trump, all the way up to Joni Ernst, with Musk's drug problems and tanking businesses somewhere in-between. Their non-stop fuckups are handing the country back to Democrats---but only if we get busy and take advantage of their constant errors and excesses. Participation in the nation-wide protests on June 14 would be a good rallying point. Everybody get busy!

They live with sunk cost fallacy justifications...
- first argument:the GOP might be grifting thieves when it comes to the Government subsidies and tax breaks, but the Democrats are actually stealing from hard workers because of Regulations and Taxes, and giving taxes to the unworthy poor for votes to stay in power!

- second: They're both bad, but Democrats are hypocrites!

- third: Democrats don't understand the Economy, they need to give money to the job creators - the small business and LLCs! Poor people don't create jobs...

-fourth and final: But What About Meeeeeee!!!????

That's the MAGA worldview. It's not about living in A Better Country, it's about being a member of A Better Country Club....

but I'm saying that an extremely blunt message from Dems about how R's are stealing their healthcare to give tax breaks to Musk et al is our only chance. Third grade level vocabulary and rude. They just don't seem capable of it though.
