OR, in the alternative - if the midterms are already fixed, etc., then the Republicans may not care. While I do not rationally believe that Biden is a clone or that we have that capability at this point in time - I DO think that election returns have the possibility of being manipulated. I can't prove that they have been, but I fully believe that possibility exists. And that concerns me.

Does anybody seriously think that's going to happen? Vance would probably be happy to do it, but Trump's cabinet members know Vance would quickly sack them and replace them with his own toadies. Since none of those losers is qualified for a real job - they couldn't be competent night managers at a 7-11 - there's no way they'll want to 86 47.

We can just impeach Trump, and that's that, right? Well, we already did that twice and the Senate wouldn't convict him. Maybe we could have just elected Hillary Clinton instead and skipped all that.

Now, we can just invoke the 25th Amendment, since impeachment won't work. Except nobody has bothered to look to see how that happens. That won't work, either, and it takes a 2/3 majority in both houses of Congress, not just the Senate. Maybe we could have elected Kamala Harris instead?

Maybe we should make a new constitutional amendment. That only takes both houses of congress and a shit pile of states. That ought to be easy, right?

So, I don't know how this is going to play out. It may very well be that it's too late and we are doomed. But I am hoping that SOMEONE does something. There are a lot of smart people in this world - lawyers and scholars and military commanders - who know a lot more about this than I (nor anyone on an internet message board) could ever presume to know. Dare I hope? I don't know.

The 25th Amendment is in the Constitution for a reason. Maybe someone, somewhere, sometime could get a little "creative".
