Joanne's had filed for bankruptcy, no buyers, stores started closing earlier this year, final 400 or so stores closed yesterday.

(129,649 posts)left even then, but she bought thread and yarn, and I bought beads. I was disappointed in the very poor way it was run (much of the merchandise was not priced), and shocked by some of the original prices on items that were.

(6,220 posts)Was a shitty company. Such disrespect for sewing, and for fabric. And for sewists.
They were not good stewards of the needle arts, hawking bath gel and candy and cheap household decorations and crowding the fabric so only one cart at a time could wend through the isles
. Never enough employees and long lines to pay. Not just towards the end- this was their model. And now we have nothing- and No Im not going to Hobby Lobby.
