“Wes Moore made an early and urgent appeal Friday to one of the nation’s most important Democratic constituencies,” Politico reports.

“The first-term governor of Maryland said Democrats must adapt and change to counter President Donald Trump and improve life for the middle class if they have any hope of returning to power.”

Said Moore: “Gone are the days when we are the party of bureaucracy, multi-year studies, panels, and college debate club rules. We must be the party of action.”

There is nothing wrong with Bureaucracy or multi year studies or panels or college debate rules. They are not Bad because people with conservative values with no legitimate alternative say they are bad. People with conservative values are too stupid to understand the value of such undertakings. However I appreciate taking action WITH A BRAIN. Republicans take action every freaking day. And here we are.

because the studies aim to help people with problems and the GOP doesn't like that. But bureaucracy should not be our brand. Conservative Pierre Poilievre promised to cut government consultants for the same reasons (politicos on the right don't want to solve problems, they want people dead or powerless). And it is always labeled as bureaucratic by conservatives. So if we can avoid that language the better. Our brand should be "lean and keen" Good Government.

In any case, Moore won’t be the nominee.

Is unless something significant changes at the DNC, the 2028 nominee will be a straight white male not named Shapiro or Newsom.

My guess is the odds currently favor Chris Murphy or Andy Beshear, but lots could change. Much will depend on the narrative regarding “electability” crafted by the DNC with assistance from the media, and who the big donors decide to back early on.

Right now, the DNC is spending $20 million to learn “how to listen to men”, and of course, they don’t want to waste all that money and then not listen to (white) men, so it seems the die is cast…

He is a young charismatic rising star. Rhodes Scholar with a great personal story, and great on-camera. I want to see him on the debate stage.

I live in Maryland. He’s started running ads on local tv. They describe what a great job he’s doing in Maryland. When I saw the first one I thought “damb he’s running for president “..

Not as progressive as some folks would like, but this guy is a WINNER!
