This historic property has roots that go back almost 200 years. The land was first purchased in 1838 by John Ravenel, who was the president of the South Carolina Railroad. Interestingly, he’s likely a distant relative of Thomas Ravenel, a cast member from the Charleston reality show "Southern Charm."

Scott Bessent and his husband picked up this historic gem in 2016 for $6.5 million. They undertook a significant renovation of the three-story pink mansion before moving in at the end of 2019. The place boasts seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, four bars, a pool, a spa, a formal garden, and a three-bedroom carriage house.

Scott put the home on the market in late October, and his asking price of $22.5 million would break the record for the highest home sale in Charleston, surpassing the current record of $20.5 million.

With meticulous renovations, this estate stands as one of Charleston’s most remarkable properties. Priced at $22.5 million, it has the potential to break local records, showcasing not only its grandeur but also its exceptional place in Charleston’s rich architectural heritage.

How he shills and outright lies for an administration that would love to end his marriage, and that appoints justices that may just do that.

Fuck him.

He shouldn’t sell since nobody lasts.

(Although I’ll laugh when this all goes to shit for him. He deserves it)

He and his husband are into the house flipping thing. I kept reading about them and found this:

Since the 1990s, Bessent has bought and sold more than $127 million worth of U.S. real estate, including at least 20 properties in his native South Carolina, New York, Florida and elsewhere. Bessent, 62, has a penchant for historic homes, often restoring and living in the properties he buys. In Manhattan, he has lived in storied prewar buildings such as the Dakota, 1 Sutton Place South and 720 Park Avenue. His other purchases have ranged from a beach house in Provincetown, Mass., to a country home in the North Carolina mountains. Bessent also has a home in London and owns property in Lyford Cay, a private community in the Bahamas. If confirmed, Bessent plans to live in the Washington, D.C., area, according to a person with knowledge of his thinking.

I wonder if they are doing the same now. They probably don't have to worry about where to live since he was loaded before he took the position.

I didn’t know Scott Bessent was gay.

Why am I finding this out now? Reich-wing media didn’t waste any time telling me Pete Buttigieg was gay. Sweet Holy Ba’al, did they! Repeatedly!

It’s almost like there is a double standard….
