Dear Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen:
We need you to stage a joint concert in D.C. on June 14 during his parade, and make it free.

On June 15. No way to do a concert in DC on June 14.

However, I could see him open to doing a concert after his European tour ends, but that won't be until later this summer.

A free concert would dilute the idea of a people powered day of resistance and defiance.

Either people show up for the cause, or they don’t - a free concert isn’t going to increase people’s commitment to freedom.

7. Why not? They are citizens.

I would think every citizen who believes in America has an obligation to give their all. I’m a retired nurse, have several published books, and now work as a lunch lady in a local high school to stay active physically and mentally. Aren’t we all allowed to use our talents and brains to “increase people’s commitment?”

The other side uses lies (LOTS) and double talk and threats and bribes. If you’re suggesting this as a plan, I can’t agree.

Whatever one focuses their attention on they strengthen. I'd rather we used our most vital tool with more discretion.

We could sell ice cream and balloons, too. Provide free video games, hot dogs or give away Girl Scout cookies which are all forms of external motivation aka payment for participating.

We need people who believe in a higher calling. The focus on payment for participation is part of what got is in this mess to begin with.

People need to be motivated by the inner desire for justice and not bribed by their wish to see celebrities without having to pay for the privilege.

YMMV and of course, it appears that you don't agree. That's your prerogative.
