Let's leave retired President Joe Biden in peace. Who are some potential Dem candidates to focus on for the future?

Last edited Sat May 17, 2025, 10:03 AM - Edit history (1)

This thread is about the future and not the past.

Who would you like to see at the national level for the Democratic Party? Remember, John Kerry's failed election paved the way for the Obama Administration. What potential Obama type folks are ready for a move upward, former V.P. Harris among them?

FUTURE!

Ouch! I'm sure it was inadvertant. Too much time being blared at by the Repub echo chamber. FadedMullet May 2025 #3

Yes, let's focus on a typo and ignore the future of the party. /nt artemisia1 May 2025 #13

The Democratic Party came back strong with a black candidate in 2008. I'd go with another ground breaking..... FadedMullet May 2025 #4

The percentages aren't there to vote for a gay man.

White, male straight Christian is the only thing we should think of running in 28

Pritzker is the only one in that demographic emerging so far

Beto needs to spend some time with Joe to learn about success and perseverance.

And rank them.

Ability to get information across effectively is way up there for me.

Ability to aggregate money too.

Standing for us, somehow managing to have a backbone in spite of the corrupt system of campaign finance weʻve allowed to control everything for now.

Ability to persuade.

Beshear and Shapiro are my other contenders that are governors.

Pete Buttigieg must be on any short list but I fear -America won’t vote for anyone from the gay community if we couldn’t even get two of the finest women contenders across the finish line.

Love AOC but this isn’t her moment (yet). America won’t vote for a woman atm.

Senator Von Hollen landed on my radar after going down to get Abrego Garcia out of CECOT and into a more humane prison.
