Hasan Piker, a left-wing political commentator who has 2.8 million followers on Twitch, says he was asked about his political affiliation, his opinion of Trump and whether he had connections to terrorist groups.

Hasan Piker, a popular Turkish American online streamer who has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump, said Monday that he was detained and questioned at length by Customs and Border Protection officers upon returning to the United States over the weekend.
Piker, a U.S. citizen who streams on Twitch under the name HasanAbi, said in a live stream that he was taken aside after landing at Chicago OHare International Airport from Paris on Sunday despite being enrolled in Global Entry, a CBP program that is supposed to give expedited clearance to pre-approved, low-risk travelers returning to the U.S.
Piker said he was brought to a detention room inside OHare that had fluorescent lightbulbs, the whole nine [yards] and where a CBP agent questioned him for about two hours about his job, his political affiliation, his opinion of Trump and whether he had any connections to terrorist groups.
They knew who I was and they were ready to receive me, lets just say, and it wasnt a very warm welcome, said Piker, a left-wing political commentator who has more than 2.8 million followers on Twitch. (Twitch is owned by Amazon, whose founder, Jeff Bezos, owns The Washington Post.)

As a US born US citizen with Global Entry and brown skin, I know the drill. But this is a whole new level of politically targeted aggression. Be safe out there DUers. They'll try to entrap you with your DU or social media posts.

Pro-Gaza streamer says he was detained at US airport
Shaun Dacosta
BBC Newsbeat
Popular streamer Hasan Piker claims he was detained for hours by US airport officials over his political views.
The influencer, who has more than six million followers across Twitch, Instagram, TikTok and X, says he was held when he returned to Chicago from France.
Mr Piker, who is known for his pro-Gaza stance and criticism of Donald Trump, says he was quizzed on his views about the Middle East and the president and accused the US government attempting to silence opposition voices with intimidation.
Officials rejected suggestions Mr Piker had been targeted over his beliefs during the "routine and lawful" inspection.
( ..)
Mr Piker accused the government of attempting to create "an environment of fear" in an effort to silence critics.
His experience follows the detention of student protesters Mahmoud Khalil and Rümeysa Öztürk by US immigration officials.
Both were taken into custody after expressing pro-Palestine views, as part of what the White House has called a crackdown on anti-semitism on US college campuses.
Opponents have accused the government of attempts to suppress free speech, and Mr Khalil's lawyers have rejected claims he was promoting anti-semitism.
