Wearing a bright blue suit, texting, and then sleeping at Pope Francis’s funeral. What an embarrassing mess.

Now if *I* showed up in unsuitable attire, I would surely have been thrown out, and in Rodney Dangerfield fashion, I would have replied: “I’ve been thrown out of better joints than this.”
But that’s just speculation.

(17,969 posts)In 1972, Alcatraz was transferred to the Department of Interior to become part of Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1986.
Today, the island's facilities are managed by the National Park Service as part of Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Visitors can reach the island by ferry ride from Pier 33, located between the San Francisco Ferry Building and Fisherman's Wharf. Hornblower Cruises, operating under the name Alcatraz Cruises, is the official ferry provider to and from the island.

(36,776 posts)But another pic posted with this one (different thread) showed he was wearing a navy suit.
It could be posted without being "hopeful" because it decried the violation of the rules by not wearing black.
The rules it quoted--that men had to wear a "dark suit." To which my immediate thought was, "Really? I've violated that rule all these decades and nobody--not parents, not brother, not boss, not friends or peers--pointed it out?" Then again, often *they* were wearing navy-blue suits.

(2,265 posts)The wrong color is the wrong color no matter what time it is or who is there to see it.
If he wants to live like a recluse, that's fine. I encourage it. But if he wants to always be in the lime light he needs to fit the role. Obviously he doesn't have the ability to read a room or take suggestions.
So, I may agree with you that the picture was brightened. As it should be. He wants to be an ass.

(10,596 posts)They were asked to wear a dark suit (it doesn't say black) and a black tie. Plenty did not wear a black tie.
Sorry to be a big pooper but sometimes stuff like this just annoys me. People were going on about his blue tie but Biden wore one as did others.
Some had printed ties. Zelensky didn't wear a tie at all. Not every woman wore black. I think everyone dressed appropriately.
What ticks me off is that he was invited.... but you know, rapists and shit.
It's not as bright as it is here in video;
On Edit: My post is in response to the posts in your post. : )

(14,461 posts)"In the world of menswear, few pieces hold as much gravitas and authority as the classic blue suit. This sartorial choice has become synonymous with power, reliability, and professionalism, making it a staple in the wardrobes of some of the world’s most influential men, including the President of the United States. But why is it that the president always seems to gravitate towards a blue suit? Let's dive into the significance of this iconic piece of formal wear and how it has become a key component of mens clothing, especially in the realm of political and business attire."
"The symbolism behind the blue suit"
- Trust and Confidence: Blue is universally recognized as a color that evokes feelings of trust, calm, and stability. In the high-stakes world of politics, wearing a blue suit can subconsciously signal to citizens and fellow leaders alike that the president is a figure of reliability and confidence.
- Versatility: The blue suit’s versatility allows it to be worn in a variety of settings, from formal state functions to more casual public appearances. This adaptability makes it an indispensable part of menswear, suitable for almost any occasion.
- Timeless Elegance: A blue suit exudes a sense of timeless elegance. Unlike more fleeting trends in mens clothing, a well-tailored blue suit remains stylish and dignified across decades, reflecting a leader who is both grounded in tradition and forward-looking.

Like his orange spray-on tan and his ridiculously coiffed hair, I think Trump is afraid to be seen wearing anything other than a blue suit.

He walks like an old man. He’s got that old man hunch.

It’s embarrassing. Macron wouldn’t shake his hand and Zelensky far outshone him.
Everything he’s doing reveals his weakness.
