If they had been he would not be in power most likely. Even when he went bankrupt 3-4 times they kept bankrolling him for a long time until finally they said no, and then Russia took over.

Word on the street is that when countries have contacted Trump for
tariff negotiations, he insists that they start doing business with the Trump
companies. For himself and his spawn. So the world is forcde to donate

Agreed. I think that he is emulating Putin and the Oligarchs when they took over Russia. They call Elon Musk the richest man in the world, but the word is that it is really Putin. He has vast personal wealth but also all of the wealth of the Russian State is at his fingertips. That is what Trump wants.

It is quite reasonable to suspect Putin is running illegal drug/sex rings.
He has a vast network of political operatives who have installed his puppets into govt
positions in the US and Europe. This costs money.

Putin is also running mercenaries

who flood the US and Europe to help create dissent and turn elections in Putin's favor.

All of this costs a great deal of cash and Putin will not use his personal money for it.

It occurs to me that part of what Putin could use a sex trafficking ring for is compromat or extortion material over politicians and businessmen, which may be something he has on Trump. We have to always keep in mind that Putin is first and foremost a KGB agent who worked in human intelligence. One of the first rules of humint is to get control over your target. A handle. Whether that is money, sex extortion, whatever else an agent can use.

None of this is rocket science.
It is all a quite straightforward espionage skill set.
