Layoff Tsunami Warning! LOTS of layoffs in US due to TRUMP TAX tariffs imminent

https://bsky.app/profile/joncooper-us.bsky.social/post/3lha3xlwrr22b

Jon Cooper

I spoke with the owner of a small NY manufacturing firm. Most of his sales are exports. Biggest markets: Canada, China & Europe.

He never thought Trump would actually impose tariffs; figured it was just campaign talk. If they go into effect, he fears he’ll have to lay off most of his 65 employees.

From another comment at BlueSky…

….. Another person who assumed he wouldn't do what he repeatedly promised he would do.

If trump voters didn't think he would do the things he said, then they thought he was lying? And that was ok?

Don't know if this guy is a trumper, but I seem to hear a lot of them say they didn't think he would actually do this or that. Makes no sense.

Cooper?

Surely you jest?

Cooper is about the most ANTI TRUMP poster ever

🥹

And the company owner Cooper refers to….
Well he sounds like he believes that Trump didn’t mean exactly what he said,
AND that to me means ,….

,HE IS AN IDIOT at best.

AND LIKELY IGNORED THE ORANGE SHITGIBBON PROMISE TO DO EXACTLY THAT
BECAUSE HE IS A TRUMP MAGA NUT

Nuts to hear so many say they voted trump but didn't expect him to do what he said he would.

They literally wrote and published project 25 and then his supporters believed when he said it has nothing to do with him.

What's worse is that so many still have no idea what's going on. Or what's coming.

11. But he didn't do a fraction of what he yammered about on the campaign trail for the last 8 years -

even when he was president.

And - left on his own he would be completely incompetent to carry it out now.

What has changed is that the power behind the throne (who used both the idiot in chief, and his adoring crowd to get him elected) have had 8 years (4 with direct access to the wheels of government) to figure out how to use him to accomplish it.

12. Amazing how STUPID so many American are.

I’ve butted heads with some contractors and/or construction managers and workers.over
Trump.

There is an astonishing amount of so-called ‘educated’ w/ college degrees
THAT ARE DUMBER THAN A BAG OF ROCKS when it comes to how government works
And doesn’t work because of REPUBLICANS

And FACTS just do not matter to MAGA nuts.

The worst are small construction subcontractors and contractors.
Their ignorance is frightening.

I gave up on most of them, they live in a bubble dominated by ignorance
and a few with plain stupid Male dominated crap.

They know everything about some dumb sports team,
But couldn’t even show you or know where most countries are located.in the world.
Most NEVER travel internationally.

But they LOVE TRUMP.

Fricken ignorant whites.
And quite a few Hispanics I know supported the orange turd.

George Carlin was absolutely correct…
The average American is dumb as hell,
And half of them are dumber than that.

American's literally said "Trump won't do what he says he is going to do, and he will help us." I doubt in the history of mankind that any leader was ever democratically elected by a populace that convinced itself not to listen to the candidate's own words. It is bizarre.

10. Well, to be fair, last time he didn't - because he was too stupid at governmenting to accomplish it.

This time, his tag-a-long crew who liked his promises had 4 years to figure out how to use him to actually implement the talk they loved. Those of us who were familiar with plan 2025 had good reason to fear this, but the average Joe, who has listened to his non-materializing chatter for years - and experienced his lack of follow-through expected it to be the same this time.
