This especially applies to the ones who are not running in 2026. What do they have to fear/dread if they go against him?
Like Moscow Mitch: he is retiring. everybody knows it. Even if he weren't retiring no one in Kentucky could beat him in a primary and he would still knock any Democrat off in the general. It is a fact of life.

What could an old KY guy have to gain from all these shenanigans? He certainly does not need the $$

I was surprised and pleased when he threw his no vote out there and forced ShadyVance to cast a tie breaker on Hegspeth. Ultimately it turned out the same but it did send a tiny message.

Edit: I guess I can only judge them on behavior, not the content (or lack thereof) of their characters.

Autocrats control people by blackmailing them, extorting them, or bribing them.

If someone acts like they've been compromised (Lindsay graham, e.g.), they probably are.
