Claiming Victories in California and Colombia are probably just the start. In this case he is making Potemkin villages for his followers, but I am sure he is half convinced of his own lies by the end of the day. I am wondering how far he will go with this. Greenland and Panama may discover that Google agrees that Trump already took both of them over, since Google Maps has agreed to rename the Gulf of Mexico.
Like the child that declared his room a separate country, and the child that cannot help making stuff up, Trump has entered the realm of acting out fantasies. I wonder how long it will take before he declares war and then victory over Narnia? He might keep it together enough to only attack fictional places in a real world setting, but that still means that he may end up attacking Wakanda to secure the vibranium for Musk's new suit of flying armor. They will need it in order to conquer Babar's Kingdom.
I doubt that Section 4 of the 25 amendment will be used to remove Trump as he becomes more and more, Trump. If you read it, it is clearly a bit more than the Republicans are going to be able to manage.
"Section 4 Declaration by Vice President and Others
Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office."
Republican legislators are already ignoring the fact that Trump just pardoned convicted insurrectionists and section three of the 14th amendment makes it clear what the result of that action should be.
"No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability."
We already have clear evidence that Republicans are not serious about governing, following the Constitution or using sense, logic and truth to guide their reasoning. Moving into fantasy was inevitable, but the question remaining is, "How far into fantasy are they willing to go?" I expect the agnostics and atheists among us are saying to themselves, "Duh, they are already there!" as they read this. While I am not a member of that crowd, In this case and many others, I cannot disagree with them.
