It doesn't have to be perfect. It doesn't have to be comprehensive either. You can always write another. 58Sunliner Tuesday #2

Tell him how you feel about his support. I emailed one last night. I screamed in all caps asking where he was on messaging issues that were critical. Broke the ice for me. I may write and call several other reps today. I may not use all cap comments to express my anger, but, we are on fire. Feel free to act accordingly.

I would stick to one issue per email, focus on what you want the person to do. I believe I read that someone will glance at it and decide which aide is to log it, so stick to one issue or area of issues. You can always write multiple emails.

I would keep it short. Here is a sample for you, if it helps. I assume that the form asked for your address (else you need to establish that you are a constituent):

Subject: Reinstate the Inspectors General

Dear Senator,

The firings of the Inspectors General on Friday, Jan XX, did not follow a 30 day notice with cause for dismissal, as is required by law. Use the informal and formal powers that you have, including impeachment, to ensure that these individuals get reinstatement and have the Executive Branch follow the process correctly.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

(Might be worthwhile to say why important to you e.g. add “The law is important to me and I expect that laws be followed in all levels of government.”)

Sometimes people get the writing equivalent of stage fright. What I recommend in situations like tthat, where you are completing a form in real time, is to go offline and pull up a simple word processing program like MS Word, compose your letter at your own speed, take your time, have a cup of tea. Check it over. It definitely need not be perfect. Just make the point you want to make in the way you want to make it.

When you are satisfied, go back to the Senator's website and paste it in.

No pressure, no worries! Good luck. Try to have fun with it.

I picked "government reform" as my topic and asked how he thought his legacy will look when history looks at him and shows he supported stopping the longest running democracy in the world and reminded him of hi oath of office.

hell, someone might just read it.
