Why is rump sending so many

troops and pseudo troops to the Southern border? Doesn't this look like a troop buildup under bs reasons, like Putin did when he sent troops to Belarus before the Ukraine invasion?

He's interested in sending 90,000 IRS agents to serve at the border. That's along with 5,000 regular troops. That's a lot of troops. What for? His excuse is a made up "emergency" which, if it existed, he caused. But it doesn't exist.

This is sure going to his head. If I were Mexico, I'd be taking steps right now. WTF is this?? I suppose it could be a joke, but he has always broadcast his thoughts, and why is he thinking about even more troops at the border? He plans to decrease troops abroad by about 20,000. Is he scraping troops up for something?

Miserable prick...

https://wisconsinwatch.org/2024/07/biden-irs-internal-revenue-service-agents-republican-national-convention/

Did Joe Biden hire ‘85,000 new IRS agents to harass hard-working Americans’? No.

In May 2021, the Biden administration approved hiring 87,000 new Internal Revenue Service employees by 2031, but only a fraction are agents, and the majority are filling expected vacancies.

Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn said in a speech at the RNC that Biden has hired 85,000 new IRS agents to “harass hard-working Americans.”

But more than half of the agency’s current employees are eligible for retirement and are expected to leave the agency within the next five years. The IRS will be able to net 20,000 to 30,000 more employees from the new funding.

In 2022, among the IRS’ workforce of 79,000 employees, 10,000 are actually agents. Within that, 8,000 are revenue agents who audit tax filings and 2,000 investigate potential tax crimes.

So the IRS doesn't even employ 90,000 people, and the total number of IRS agents is only around 10,000.

Never believe any numbers being thrown out in the media by right wingers. They are allergic to the truth.

praising it, and trumpsters making it a plot to capture hard working white wingers.

“Inflation Reduction Act: 88,000 IRS agents?
The original 87,000 IRS agents figure appears to have come from a U.S. Treasury Department estimate of the level of hiring needed to maintain IRS efficiency and keep up with retirements and other staff declines.

However, the actual number of new IRS agents that will be hired remains to be seen, particularly since the IRS has struggled to attract talent in recent years.

Of the $80 billion for the IRS in the Inflation Reduction Act, $45.6 billion was designated for enforcement.
The Congressional Research Service (CRS) points out that more enforcement could include legal support and investments in technologies that aid IRS investigations.
For example, the U.S. Tax Court could receive about $150 million. . . . . “

total employees over the next 10 years. Total employees NOT agents. Huge difference. Tax agents are a very small portion of the total workers the IRS employs (only about 10,000 agents out of 80,000 total workers). The right wing lied and said it was 80 whatever thousand agents being hired. In reality, most of that 87,000 was to replace retirees and other normal turnover of all employees at the agency and it was to occur over 10 years. The idea that the IRS would hire 87,000 agents was always ludicrous on its face, and you'd have to be either extremely dishonest or extremely gullible to peddle that lie.

Note, the vast majority of IRS employees are involved in either processing or otherwise facilitating and reviewing Tax Returns and Tax payments or answering inquiries from the public on Tax rules and regulations. Tax agents are the only employees to conduct audits and investigate people for possible nonpayment of required taxes.

With migrants knowing that they cant cross the border and ask for asylum. That leaves their only option is to cross illegally, and its kind of hard with so many troops on the border to stop them.

It is a stupid show of force, that ultimately may work to what rump wants. Now the migrants will stay in Mexico and wait for the apts like they did under his remain in Mexico policy. How long until the camps in Mexico turn in to dangerous places and lots of scams start taking advantage of the migrants.

Sun Jan 26, 2025, 10:45 PM

1. He sent more troops in 2018 than this go around.

2. The "sending IRS agents to the border" presupposes that 90,000 IRS agents were newly hired by Biden in the last year or so, in addition to simple replacement of people that quit or retired. In other words, the new batch under some Congressional bill of recen vintage. The scuttlebutt is that those people were never actually hired, so the net influx of untrained "agents" to the border is effectively nil.

Sometimes when Trump broadcasts his thoughts it's just static we hear, and pareidolia leads us to hear voices in the static.
