Reasons people voted for Trump.

"I've never voted for a Democrat, I wasn't going to start now."
"Democrats will take my guns away."
"Democrats are OK with post birth abortions."
"We need to keep our bathrooms safe."

Please feel free to add to this thread. Lots of reasons without reasoning.

Fear, ignorance, and stupidity; racism, bigotry, misogyny, and hate.

It was no different than Madison Avenue selling soap flakes. Trump made himself more interesting to "The Public". That's why he had all those rallies. I believe it was said, "Is there anything more fun than a Trump rally?"

It wasn't politics. It was another form of Nielsen Ratings.

I opined to a friend that Trump was for people who couldn't attend a Broadway performance or a live concert. And the attendees still voted for Trump even when they left the rallies before he finished.

I also harken back to when Sarah Palin ran with John McCain. My friend from grade school told me that Palin "looked fun" and was "had spunk". And that's what sold Trump. Personal appeal, not substance.

All sizzle and no steak.
