Trump isn't just looking to eliminate diversity in government, he's organizing a wrecking crew

...to be sure, Trump's elimination of diversity, equity, and inclusion standards is about ensuring he can fit enough of the white men he likes into government positions which are now occupied with a diversity of men and women willing and qualified to lawfully carry out the people's business in the agencies that employ them.

Trump's main aim is to place people in those positions of leadership in government agencies and oversight positions who will bend to his intention to steer the efforts of those agencies to his narrow interests.

That includes both his personal enrichment and the acquiescence of our government resources to benefit his wealthy benefactors and friends, as well as the evisceration of any federal government oversight or limits on harmful or corrupt activities of business and corporations where our health, safety, jobs, incomes, or livelihoods are at risk.

As egregious as it will be to take away hiring efforts which benefit our government's recruitment of qualified applicants from a diversity of our nation's communities, Trump is just using deserved controversy over ending DEI as a smokescreen for his replacing of people hired for what they know and what they can do to enrich our government, with others hired for who they know and what they are willing to do to neuter and advantage government in Trump's personal interest and favor.

2. He enjoys hitting back at the diverse people who nailed his ass

He thinks if he destroys diversity, he's paying back every POC who worked to expose him and then called him to account. In his very twisted mind, he thinks every white person on the planet will adore his actions. The only person who adores his actions is him. Although he is surrounded by like-minded people. I'm allegedly kind of wondering if there is an alleged junta, if the alleged crowd up against the wall will outnumber the alleged firing squad.

5. I don't think it is just a smokescreen. I believe he wants to destroy minorities, especially black people.

The reverberations will affect black communities. He is petty and vindictive and I am sure it bothers him that most black people despise him.
I imagine that losing out on government contracts will affect minority owned companies in a drastic way - which thus affects their ability to retain staff, leading to less jobs for black folks.
It also gives private companies license to follow suit.

After 2020, a lot of companies made promises that they never lived up to.
Before all this, awhile back I was reading an article that did a follow up to see how some of these businesses were doing since that DEI push after 2020. Many of them were not doing well after companies started pulling back - one lady was in tears saying that she was probably going to have to close her business.
1.5 % of government contracts went to black owned companies.
Over 600 billion dollars (federally) is awarded to private contractors.
To put that in perspective - 9 billion dollars.
9 billion dollars that may be taken out of black communities.
It gets even more insidious when you think about that environmental justice, healthcare DEI initiatives are also under fire.
Recruitment of black teachers, black doctors, also under fire.
There are a lot of studies that show that healthcare and education outcomes improve when you have more black teachers and healthcare providers.
The man is an evil racist. Sure he is corrupt but he is killing 2 birds with one stone.

6. that's all true, but the Trump administration is not just screening for white people

...republicans just happen to be disproportionately white.

Yes, they have the goal of white supremacy in mind, and decisions from the top give cover to companies like Target to abandon their diversity programs and outreach.

But the issue of removing DEI as a federal government directive -what is essentially little more than outreach to tradionally overlooked groups for qualified applicants - isn't just going to drive minority employees out. It's going to reduce the pool of applicants by not reaching out to those marginalized groups.

More than that, it's designed to provide cover for packing government with Trumpers. It just is.

Loyalty tests and MAGA checks: Inside the Trump White House’s intense screening of job-seekers

WASHINGTON (AP) — Job-seekers hoping to join the new Trump administration are facing a series of intense loyalty tests, with White House screening teams fanning out to government agencies to check for “Make America Great Again” bona fides and carefully parsing applicants’ politics and social media posts.

Negative social media posts have been enough to derail applications. Those seeking jobs have been told they will have to prove their “enthusiasm” to enact Trump’s agenda and have been asked when their moment of “MAGA revelation” occurred. One federal employee said they briefly considered buying Trump’s crypto meme coin in case the president’s team asked about their voting record.

The intense screening has led some federal workers to question whether Trump’s team cares more about loyalty than competence. There is concern that his team is ousting foreign policy and national security diplomats and others who could offer the administration expertise and institutional knowledge at a time of conflict worldwide.

An application form on the Trump transition website, for instance, asks candidates, “What part of President Trump’s campaign message is most appealing to you and why?” according to a link obtained by The Associated Press.
