Spiegel - Elon Musk joins AfD election campaign launch
"Be proud to be German": Tech billionaire Elon Musk spoke to AfD supporters from a video screen. The Trump advisor shared his insights about "German culture" and there was cheering in the exhibition hall.

Four weeks before the federal election, tech billionaire Elon Musk once again got involved in the German election campaign on a big stage and campaigned for the AfD. At the party's official election campaign launch in Halle (Saale), the Trump advisor and Tesla boss was connected live from the USA at the beginning of the speech by party leader Alice Weidel .
In a video message, Musk reaffirmed his support for the AfD party. "It is very important that people in Germany are proud to be German," Musk said via livestream. "German culture" goes back "thousands of years." Even the Roman Emperor Julius Caesar was "impressed" by the fighting spirit of the Germanic tribes, Musk continued.
"Fight for a great future for Germany," Musk said to the cheers of the approximately 4,500 AfD supporters in the exhibition hall, according to party figures. The entrepreneur complained that there was "too much focus on past guilt," and that we must put that behind us. Children should not be guilty for the sins of their great-grandparents, he said, and called for optimism.
