DU, more and more I'm experiencing sleepless nights thinking about all of the bad things that are happening and worrying about the bad things to come.
I should point out that I've always had a tendency to worry more than the average person, anyway. Plus, for years (long before Trump got into politics) I've suffered from chronic insomnia.
Even taking those things into account, I'm still finding it much more difficult to sleep at night.
I was never in denial about how bad things would get if Trump returned to power. I was well-aware of the things in Project 2025 and of Trump's seemingly endless stream of threats ("the enemy within," "poisoning the blood," "the radical left," "I am your retribution," etc.). I'm not in the least bit surprised by what he's doing, but it's still unnerving to be experiencing it in real time. But I knew in advance that we'd get "shock and awe." I've been trying to be chill and live my life.
DU helps me cope.
