Denmark "In Crisis Mode" After Terrible Trump Phone Call on Greenland

Donald Trump has fully freaked out the Danes after a phone call with the country’s prime minister.

“It was a cold shower. Before, it was hard to take it seriously. But I do think it is serious, and potentially very dangerous.”

“The intent was very clear. They want it. The Danes are now in crisis mode,” another official told the publication. “The Danes are utterly freaked out by this.”

It is very effective.

Pretty soon we'll start to see the effects of this in United States.

They fear on people's faces, and the upset, will be palpable and obvious.

Every news outlet is compromised right now. Formerly sane outlets have become fascist (like the LA Times and WaPo for instance), and already fascist outlets like Fox are basically pro dictator. We have to get to work fixing this.

Yes, the media is compromised and spreads lies. But millions of Americans - including most of us on DU, who represent a wide range of backgrounds and beliefs - manage to get accurate news. We aren't glued to Fox News, or AM radio, or QAnon websites.

Why are so many of our fellow Americans gobbling up biased, false information?

Reasonable people listen to Trump for five minutes and recognize that he's an evil, lying fool. What's wrong with the rest of us?

Fox News wouldn't exist if there wasn't a willing audience.

He'll probably do a display of force move soon, because that's what assholes do.

We might see an airspace intrusion incident, followed by Danish fighter jets with there wings dripping with Hellfire and Sparrowhawk missiles, just waiting for Dementia Don to make the next dumb move.

In the meantime, while distracted, Xi would likely take over Taiwan without trump interference.

Only 3 yr/11 mo/25 days to go.

Article 5

The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognized by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.

Any such armed attack and all measures taken as a result thereof shall immediately be reported to the Security Council. Such measures shall be terminated when the Security Council has taken the measures necessary to restore and maintain international peace and security.”

This article is complemented by Article 6, which stipulates:

Article 6

“For the purpose of Article 5, an armed attack on one or more of the Parties is deemed to include an armed attack:

on the territory of any of the Parties in Europe or North America, on the Algerian Departments of France 2, on the territory of Turkey or on the Islands under the jurisdiction of any of the Parties in the North Atlantic area north of the Tropic of Cancer;

on the forces, vessels, or aircraft of any of the Parties, when in or over these territories or any other area in Europe in which occupation forces of any of the Parties were stationed on the date when the Treaty entered into force or the Mediterranean Sea or the North Atlantic area north of the Tropic of Cancer.”

And if there are any who will carry out an illegal order, I wonder if any of them will consider the legal consequences once It is out of office for good. What is the statute of limitations on war crimes?

Yes, Denmark is currently a member of NATO and has been a founding member since its establishment in 1949; meaning it is considered one of the original countries to join the alliance.
Key points about Denmark and NATO:
Founding member:
Denmark was one of the founding members of NATO when it was established on April 4, 1949.
Nordic participation:
Denmark, alongside Norway and Iceland, joined NATO as a founding member while limiting certain aspects of their participation like permanent bases on their territory.
Active member:
Denmark is considered an active member of NATO and plays a significant role in the alliance.
