I love Joe Biden. I meet Biden twice in 2019 at fundraisers. I had/have a stutter and got to discuss stuttering with President Biden. I have a couple of 2016 National convention floor speech signs signed by President Biden including one sign inscribed with Keep the Faith.
This made me smile

(157,387 posts)By fourth grade, I no longer needed speech therapy. I debated all through high school and for a year and a half on the college level. College debate involves speaking at a very fast rate to make as many arguments as possible in a short period of time. My coach had me see a speech therapist at the campus health center to see if I could increase my speed and I eventually decided to drop debate which was the right decision.
As a former stutter, I could tell when Joe Biden was having issues. You can tell when he was pausing between phrases to deal with the stutter. The key thing is that President Biden overcame this condition and was an amazing POTUS and public leader.
I am glad that President Biden is Keeping the Faith.

(146,600 posts)His mind will race, and as a natural "fast talker", he wants to get those thoughts out fast, and that is when the stutter will resurface.
And to add insult to injury, the nasty sadistic media will blame that on "cognitive decline" and other armchair diagnosis nonsense.
I grew up with a neighbor whose kids we used to play with and she had a very severe stutter. When stressed, she would get frustrated and almost go silent trying to respond. I don't know if she had ever had any speech therapy (it wasn't really a "thing" for her generation), but from a young age, my sisters and I learned patience, and our calmness at least helped her finish the sentence.
Glad you were able to manage the condition!!

(13,807 posts)Let the suffering proceed and then maybe even tRumpers will loose faith...no sense in keeping a band-aide on this fool.... The lessons were not learned the first time...so now it gets worse. Yes, we Democrats and many, many good souls fought for him/ tRump to not be elected... we failed.
Now maybe the misery he has in-store for humanity needs to happen to evoke understanding and change...

suggesting that we keep faith in the Trump administration. I believe that he was encouraging us to keep faith in democracy in spite of the fascist MAGAs.
Keeping faith in democracy means not giving up your values in the face of a fascist dictatorship by oligarchs. It could mean opposing them whenever possible. I believe that it means restoring democracy in the long run. To do that, we have to continue believing in it.

(102 posts)Nice sentiment, Joe. Now all we need is someone or something in which to place our faith. Some younger, enthusiastic, motivated, and downright mean Dems who aren't afraid to tear into the Repug grift machine like rabid weasels would be nice for a start.
