The FBI released body camera images that identified Frank Peter Molinari Giorgi Jr. as one of the individuals at the 2021 Capitol riot.
A man related to the family behind San Franciscos celebrated Molinari & Sons has been arrested for allegedly assaulting law enforcement officers during the 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, according to the United States Attorneys Office.
Frank Peter Molinari Giorgi Jr., whose father, Frank Giorgi, is the president of Molinari & Sons, was arrested in San Francisco on Wednesday after the FBI said they identified him among the crowd that overtook the Capitol on the day Congress was formalizing President Joe Bidens win. Giorgi is facing felony charges and is accused of assaulting law enforcement officers, resisting officers and obstruction of law enforcement, in addition to facing several misdemeanor charges that include disorderly conduct in a Capitol building. Giorgi is slated to make his first court appearance in the Northern District of California on Thursday.

According to a news release Thursday from the United States Attorneys Office of the District of Columbia, body camera footage captured Giorgi, who wore a black hooded sweatshirt and a bright red knit hat, emerging from the crowd and charging at an officer amid the chaos of breached police lines and retreating officers. Giorgi allegedly struck the officer across his head with his hands before disappearing into the crowd. Prosecutors say Giorgi later reappeared among the rioters two hours later, this time wearing a yellow knit hat, and allegedly grabbed an officer by the head and neck and brought him to the ground before he fled the scene.
