Fox News host Pete Hegseth, Trumps Secretary of Defense nominee briefly ran for Senate in 2012, ultimately accepting defeat on the primary. Hegseths 2012 Senate campaign platform and views on LGBTQ+ issues raise serious concerns about his suitability for such a crucial role overseeing the military.
On his Senate website, Hegseth clearly stated that he would "vote to support families, uphold traditional marriage, and defend the rights of the unborn," which underscores his opposition to same-sex marriage.
This position not only conflicts with the growing acceptance of LGBTQ+ rights in American society but also undermines the values of inclusion and equality that are essential for military leadership in the 21st century.
Hegseth's record on LGBTQ+ military service is equally troubling. He has consistently opposed policies that would allow openly LGBTQ+ individuals, including transgender service members, to serve in the military, and is on the record criticizing changes to Dont Ask, Dont Tell.

Says the guy who was married multiple times. Don't believe in gay marriage? Then don't marry someone of the same gender. It's pretty easy.

(10,307 posts)Like him Trump, Gingrich and Jr is trying to get the quota too. And you HAVE to cheat on the ones you are married to as you fuck the new ones. And if the one they leave is dying of cancer, you get a lifetime invite to be on Fux and say Jesus a bunch and condemn real Christians like Joe, and Carter.

(28,586 posts)He did not get the Republican nomination & did not run in their primary. Funny thing, I had no memory of who the Republian candiate was that year - probably why they can't win a statewide race in Minnesota, their candidates are so forgettable.
Klobuchar was the DFL candiate that year - she got 65% of the vote.
