actor portraying a businessman or a POTUS in a film or on TV. So he's not lying -- his character is lying. He does nothing wrong because his character is always correct. Plus, everyone else is also lying. Very interesting.

It's like watching Don Quixote, but without the humor. Trump lives in a fantasy of his own creation and draws everyone else into it.

Not as profoundly so as the Professor, but I have questioned whether or not he is truly "lying", as I was never sure if he knew the difference between the truth and what he proclaimed.

I doubt that even if he had electrodes placed on certain parts of his body, should he give the wrong answer when questioned, that he would have the ability to discern the truth. And that is scary.

Without their support, a person who inhabits the bubble of a fictional world could not become president in the real world.

. . . we should be careful about calling this a "clinical opinion." Snyder is a historian -- B,A. in history and political science from Brown, Ph.D. in modern history from Oxford -- and as such his opinion is not in any way a "clinical" one, although it may indeed be accurate.
