(61,069 posts)Unbelievably huge, you cannot eat the whole thing in one sitting.
(All their baked goods are ginormous, you know they are big when Americans
complain the portions are too large.)
Exceptionally flaky and buttery, with fabulous chocolate filling.

(61,069 posts)Not like French or American pasty.
The goodies are hearty and much bigger than French and American pastry.
But with the French flavor and touch.
And in the shops, there are huge rows and rows of pastry.
It is overwhelming.
Definitely worth an invasion but only if I am in charge of croissant acquisition.

(I watched a movie about the founding of Quebec. It was in black and white, so it was probably true.)
Here is a song in French, but it's not about Quebec.

(61,069 posts)I enjoyed it.
I know, you look at all the pastries and wonder who the heck is eating all of it.

(61,069 posts)If you would like a foreign type vacation but don't want the expense or time to go to France,
I highly recommend the province of Quebec Canada.
You can fly into Montreal and then take the train to Quebec City.
The train is totally amazing and you will always want to travel that way from then on.
Unfortunately they do not go as fast as an airplane.
Or you can drive of course.
I will not tell you how many large chocolate filled croissants I ate traveling around Quebec this
past summer.
I did do a great deal of walking so managed only to gain a pound or so.
I love all the old churches in the old cities in Montreal and QC.
So I eat croissants and then go sit in old churches and say some prayers.
Montreal Cathedral is fabulous.

The MAGATs have to find Canada on the map first.
