DEI good guys / bad guys list

Which companies are rolling back DEI and which are standing firm
https://www.axios.com/2025/01/16/dei-rollback-companies-amazon-meta-mcdonalds

Several of America's largest companies have buckled to the pressures of political and shareholder activists by rolling back their commitments to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Why it matters: Calls for ending these corporate initiatives have become more fervent in the past year and are expected to intensify in President-elect Trump's second term.

The big picture: Companies have been talking about DEI less, and reframing the narrative when they do.

You just end up hiring a bunch of unqualified white men. DEI makes the workforce stronger because clearly the old boys hiring club is not giving you the best and brightest.

Bernie hadn't been associated with running Home Depot for years, but every time he made the news as a darling of the right, THD's name was dragged into it. Arthur Blank, the owner of the Falcons, is also a founder, and he's absolutely a Democrat. He hosted John Lewis to speak at the Home Depot HQ in Atlanta at least once.

I'm hoping I don't see Home Depot show up on the list of companies ditching DEI.

You're right all I ever heard was about the owner (Bernie Marcus) kneeling at the feet of whatever Republican was in office, and the mega donations he made. Knew he had retired, didn't realized he died last year,

Was totally unaware of the partner, Arthur Blank being a Democratic supporter, Glad to hear it.

Are you saying that for us liberals, Lowes is out and Home Depot is in?

Damn! Didn't see that coming.

Okay. I can play that game! In my neighborhood in southern Florida, there are many more HDs than Lowes.
