I was at my doctor's just now, and a woman more elderly than I am, was asked by the intake person

if she was born in this country.

They didn't ask me that.

Anybody know anything about this? All the bullshit that goes on now about citizenship makes me suspicious. Is this some nonsense the government has come up with?

Maybe I'm overly suspicious, but these days it's hard not to be.

To receive Medicaid you have to fill out and sign a form stating that you are a citizen of whatever state you're in. Diamond_Dog Jan 16 #5

.... is it now policy to double check that the patient is a citizen to receive the governmental services ?

Maybe the office manager is a devout MAGA Fascist looking to deny medical services to immigrants.

You have to do that when you apply for it. So if she had Medicaid , that should have already been confirmed.

No requirement AFAIK to be born in the USA.

The receptionist puts that into the woman's medical information file.

How many healthcare data breaches have happened in the last few years? I've personally gotten several letters saying my info may have been hacked.

So now her hypothetical answer of "not a citizen" is in the possession of Big Data miners. It's shared and hacked and stolen.

Eventually she is in a database of a government entity that is tasked with deporting her, along with several members of her family due to data association.

Now change the receptionists question to "have you ever had an abortion?"...

There are dark times coming.

that was set up in such a way that patients can listen to other's intake questions. The office I go to has dividers and the line is kept several feet back so it is very difficult to overhear what they are saying at intake.
