(14,752 posts)will be changed to make houses more fire resistant. Hopefully even to the extent that this couple has done. But I'll bet there is going to be resistance from the "libertarian" crowd who want the freedom to build firetraps.

(60,049 posts)but the reality might end up that no insurance company will insure houses that are not fire resistant. Between codes and the fact that a private insurance company can not be forced to insure something they do not want to insure will mean that most libertarians will comply. Only the most extreme will build "what they want" even knowing they can't count on insurance. In addition, the city will fight them as a safety hazard to the community.
