Good points from Joyce Vance about DOJ investigation reports...

...full thread on Bluesky:

https://bsky.app/profile/joycewhitevance.bsky.social/post/3lfao3ocqg22u

Key points:

"That second volume of the report, which has always been more interesting to me, only remains secret as long as the cases against De Oliveira and Nauta move forward. Currently, they are on appeal to the 11th after Judge Cannon dismissed. Smart move by DOJ."

"Trump's DOJ can either move the cases toward trial, which would be an interesting spectacle or Trump can pardon/DOJ can dismiss the case. Then, Congressional Dems have the report, ready to release. And, new leaders at DOJ are forced to decide how much they're going to let Trump dictate their work."

...not in cannon's court anymore so it's outside of cannon's jurisdiction to have made that order anyway.

Knowing this, garland could have just released the full report already.

garland has no intention of releasing it.

Biden could claim he "wants to move on and put the past behind us", order the remaining cases dropped, and the report released today.

Depending on how the 11th Circuit rules, either the DoJ or congressional Dems will release the report.

It was cannon who orderd that, erroneously.
