Biden considering preemptive pardons for Cheney, Fauci, others

Biden said he is considering preemptive pardons for public figures such as former Republican congresswoman Liz Cheney and former senior health official Dr. Anthony Fauci who have been threatened with investigation and prosecution by incoming president Donald Trump.

When Biden met with Trump in the Oval Office a week after the November election, he urged the president-elect not to go forward with threats to target those who have criticized him or, in Cheney's case, helped lead efforts to impeach him.

"I tried to make clear that there was no need, and it was counterintuitive for his interest to go back and try to settle scores," Biden said. How did Trump respond? "He didn't say, 'No, I'm going to ...' You know. He didn't reinforce it. He just basically listened."

Biden said his decision would be based "a little bit" on whom Trump names to top administration roles. The president-elect has chosen former Florida attorney general Pam Bondi as his nominee to head the Justice Department and firebrand loyalist Kash Patel to head the FBI.

For instance, Liz Cheney, how could she be arrested for carrying out her duties in Congress. Such an arrest would make it clear that Trump is a dictator.

That Fauci disagreeing with him in an open Senate hearing regarding previous testimony he gave constitutes lying to Congress. Look it up. He's already tried to forward a complaint to DOJ.

If Biden issues a pardon, its an admission Fauci lied to Congress. Which is ridiculous. Read up on the exchange between Fauci and Paul. Paul insists that if Fauci doesn't "correct" his testimony and admit Paul was correct, he's guilty of "lying under oath" and must be prosecuted. The two were discussing the previous testimony in an open Senate hearing and Fauci disagrees with Paul's view that his previous testimony was not factual or misleading. They openly discussed the testimony and why Fauci says its not incorrect. The entire exchange is part of the Senate record, so Paul is on record with his "objection" to Fauci's testimony. That's all he gets. No other Senator signed on to the referral to DOJ. Paul is insane.

"Biden considering admitting Cheney, Fauci, others committed crimes"

Because that's all its going to look like to everyone out there. The fact that Biden even mentioned it to Trump is bonkers in my book. All Trump heard is "yeh, they committed crimes, but just leave them alone".

The threats are all bluster and bluff. Bring it on and humiliate Trump's stooges in court. There is a long losing streak for this kind of harassment - but only when the targets fight back.
